The Life Skills program is a self-contained class for students identified with a moderate intellectual exceptionality who require alternative programming. The focus is on developing basic literacy, numeracy and practical independent living skills.
Students learn in an environment that is suitable to accommodate their academic needs. You may see them baking, doing laundry, making deliveries, taking city transit or taking care of the schoolís recycling program. Lifeskills students exemplify the true meaning of being a St. Benedict Bear. Their pride extends beyond that of the classroom and into the community. The underlying philosophy of St. Benedictís Lifeskills program is that although we are all different, we all are equally important and we all have something to contribute.
